here we go leave it on the back burner take it to the dry town I got the mean time slippin' down the slide some uptight right wing, political homicide, do what you want, take what you will, take it in like a south paw, flip it on the grill bourgeoisie, protocol bottoms up boys this is the last call happy hour doesn't last too long you know it never does so I sit here on a bar stool looking at the sky got a buck and a quarter and a bucket full of rye don't step out of line you'll get time in the brig don't yield to the mighty you got your own dirt to dig chorus me and my fleabag friends we ran to have our own feast of Crispian. Murphy was there with number 22 they were caught in the middle of a coup, you will lose me if I don't lose you we haven't chosen anyone of you to condemn so make your decision and chose your side or let us begin steeped in knowledge I'll step from the board down to the speak easy with my double-edge sword you know the deal you got to spin the wheel I heard the heavens are full of sevens but as a matter of face you know that cat suicide jack he don't play like that truth is he don't really play at all

old man river said you can go your own way if you just leave him alone do not deliver all your things today we are going home oh mama we now so hungry I got bats in the belfry I'm in the kitchen, boiling society I'm in the open catching all the leaves we all see what we want old man river… oh mama we now so hungry chorus I have a crazy idiosyncrasy it's affinity to serendipity and in this eternal epiphany no hypocrisy or duplicity oh mama we now so hungry

The General 04:06
there was a decorated general with a heart of gold, that likened him to all the stories he told of past battles, won and lost, and legends of old a seasoned veteran in his own time on the battlefield, he gained respectful fame with many metals of bravery and stripes to his name he grew a beard as soon as he could to cover the scars on his face and always urged his men on but on the eve of a great battle with the infantry in dream the old general tossed in his sleep and wrestled with its meaning he awoke from the night just to tell what he had seen and walked slowly out of his tent all the men held tall with their chests in the air, with courage in their blood and a fire in their stare it was a gray morning and they all wondered how they would fare till the old gerenal told them to go home I have seen the others and I have discovered that this fight is not worth fighting I have seen their mothers and I will no other to follow me where I'm going take a shower, shine your shoes you got no time to lose you are young men you must be living go now you are forgiven but the men stood fast with their guns on their shoulders not knowing what to do with the contradicting orders the general said he would do his own duty but he would extend it no further the men could go as they pleased not a man moved, their eyes gazed straight ahead till one by one they stepped back and not a word was said and the old general was left with his own words echoing in his head he then prepared to fight chorus go now you are forgiven

Bang Bang 04:27
she woke me up with a bang, bang looking over cross eyed had a big hunch that the world was a big lie when I got up all the blood to my head I got so dizzy fell back into my bed I went over to the way side looking for the high tide what will I find will I find will I find all I saw was a man that had a hat that had a pom-pom he's been there for years can someone tell me how long wake up to tell me wake up to show me what I could not find you see this woman woke me up at a quarter to three and I didn't know it then but she put a spell on me said I had to go down to where the cliffs meet the sea and meet an old man to present my plea so I headed way down to the big pier to await and confront my big fear I wheeled around behind to my blindside to find and old man with a lime and a kind eye mister, mister with your beard so long won't you be a saint and tell me just where I'm going he pointed to a conk shell and then to the lime and said this is all I really need to get by chorus hey mister man I know you don't know who you think I think I am but I can safely say, that I should've been sleeping the day away I said scuse me, if you've got the time he shrugged his shoulders said get a spine coconut hit me on the head jonesin' for a fig I booked last night I need another fix just then I see a twinkle twinkle in the old man's eye and a wave tossed bottle in thrown to the sky I caught it on the rebound it landed with a soft sound I took out the message and put the bottle down inside was the antidote to the spell I read it to the man 'cause he couldn't read so well said don't worry about a thing you know your path is true just ease your mind have a banana or two goodness, goodness, woe is me the man nearly flipped to learn that he was free but just before we left and started kicking it I picked up the bottle and star sixed it if that woman comes to you with her song so sweet, say damn let the poor sucker sleep

Two Coins 03:06
I stick loneliness, your lips and the two coins of your eyes into my pockets Well the train skates into Port Henry late sunday sometimes when I’m riding high feeling fine you know there's something troubling my mind so I reach into my pocket for some small change I reach into my pocket for some small change I want bones like iron blood like mercury so I can tell you when I’m rising and when I'm sinking in chorus we're gonna take it to the people hey let's drink from the cup share some luck go ahead and laugh cause it don't cost much I stick loneliness, your lips and the two coins of your eyes into my pockets

so all of a sudden I'm facing a raging river that passed me by do I turn around, do I turn my eye to the sun in the apex of the high noon I'm on a flatbed yellow pick up underneath a half moon so cut me some slack jack and jump in the back if you can't handle the candle then you can't handle the wax you're just going to get sacked it's as simple as that but before I know it I'm going down this itty bitty river in a boat a litle bigger than a bath tub my bones begin to shiver cause I'm aching to deliver this water that I must give her can I get some down by the railway station people moving a new direction take a ticket from who you can drive that train she was a black-tie bob shell out of Bombay she was easy on the eyes so I had nothing to say she said take the water to the leprechaun man you got till the bell rings three, do you understand a little piece of me wants to go I don't know turn around what do I do I don't know ding dong ding that's the bell and I know you know I know I don't know you very well but if I did I would groove and hit the ground running but I don't and I won't so you got another thing coming chorus he kicked up the river with a flick of his wrist I popped him in the kisser cause I couldn't resist I said to my side kick I'm up to the high wick and now I’m getting a little homesick but before I know it I'm going down this itty bitty river In a boat a little bigger than my bath tub my bones begin to shiver cause I'm aching to deliver this water that I must give her can I get some chorus ride your train
9.
Whirlwind 04:56
a whirlwind came into my life and it tried to rescue me will you come, will you go will you tell me seriously twistin' burnin', my thoughts turnin' back to you again sweet thing take me to the end You better dig and take a look inside yourself so the story goes or so I've heard it said that you left your land to trade for a place so far away, so out of date that only you could understand and at the ceiling of my feeling backed up against the wall sweet thing you know I'd fall in line You better dig and take a look inside yourself she wants to be free and I want to know that she wants to be free and I want to know
10.
would you be the wind to blow me home would you be a dream on the wing of a poem and if you were walking through a crowd you know I'd be proud if you call my name out loud do you suppose that I would come running do you suppose I'd come at all I suppose I would and if we were walking down a dead end street would you be the one to let our eyes meet or would you just keep on walking down to the turn around cause you know I'd be proud chorus and if I was one form the land we know would you be the dawn and let your beauty still show and if you were walking and head the cold night coming would you call my name cause you know I'd come running

A forgotten whisper screams at me now So that I don't forget how To sit like a child on my mother's knee How dare that child be me And it's trot trot to Boston And trot trot to Lynn And trot all the way home again But don't let me fall in Cause I'm slipping through your legs I'm slipping through your legs I'm slipping through your legs I'm slipping through your legs So race me up the loft Up the ladder until I get lost And let you be an arms length away So you can wake me and tell me of the day And its trot trot to Boston And trot trot to Lynn And trot all the way home again But don't let me fall in Cause I'm slipping through your legs I'm slipping through your legs I'm slipping through your legs I'm slipping through your legs So where are you going did you follow me? And how could you see so well? So well You were helpless like a dove at bay But what did you say When he pulled it out Did you shout, did you shout O did you shout Cause I'm slipping through your legs I'm slipping through your legs I'm slipping through your legs I'm slipping through your legs So where are you going? Did you follow me? And how could you see so well? So well You were helpless like a dove at bay But what did you say when he pulled it out Did you shout, did you shout, did you shout And the way it goes, and I can't remember And the way it goes, and I can't remember And the way it goes, and I can't remember And the way it goes, and I can't remember And the way it goes, and I can't remember And the way it goes, and I can't remember
